SAFETY TIPS:
We recommend using a plastic container exclusively for drying flowers. Silica Gel is certified safe and non-toxic and conforms to ASTM D4236.
Materials Needed:
- ACTIVA Products Flower Drying Art - Silica Gel
- Bouquet
- Shadow Box
- Soft brush
- Glue gun
- Spatula
- Hairspray
Step 1:
Pour a layer of flower drying art silica gel in the bottom of an air-tight container. Make sure the layer is at least 1” - 2” deep, or deep enough to hold the flowers.
Step 2:
Place each flower carefully making sure they don’t touch each other. Pour silica gel on top of the flowers making sure they are covered completely.
Step 3:
Seal the container and move it to a shelf for drying. Make sure that you don’t tip or shift the content. It is best to not move the container until you are ready to remove the flowers. After 7-9 days, the drying is complete.
Step 4:
When ready, gently remove the flowers and carefully shake out the silica gel with a soft brush
Step 5:
Spray the flowers with hairspray, this will work as a sealer to prevent breakage and color fade.
Step 6:
Let the flowers dry, later start gluing each flower one by one with the glue gun, create your own unique design, add as many as desired.
