Step 1:

Cut flowers by the stem, pour a layer of flower drying art silica gel in the bottom of an air-tight container. Make sure the layer is at least 1” - 2” deep, or deep enough to hold the flowers

Step 2:

Place in the plastic container each flower carefully, making sure they don’t touch each other. Pour silica gel on top of the flower, check they are covered completely. Shake the container side so the silica penetrates between the petals

Step 3:

Seal the containers and move it to a shelf for drying. Make sure that you don’t tip or shift the content. It is the best to not move the container until you are ready to remove the flower. After 3-4 days the drying is complete the carnations should be ready. Roses and mexican marigolds take longer because they have more petals, they will be ready after 6-8 days of drying

Step 4:

When ready, remove the flowers and gently shake out the silica gel with a soft brush, spray them with a thin layer of hairspray, this will seal the petals and will make the colors pop

Step 5:

Place the headband on the mannequin, (make sure all the time you are designing the crown according to the form of the headband on the mannequin), open the package of wire mesh, carefully cut the wire in the shape of a halo and place it on top of the headband, use the floral wire and the pliers to secure the wire mesh, you can also seal it with hot glue

Step 6:

Paint the skewers with gold glitter spray paint, glue them to the wire mesh

Step 7:

Once the skewers are ready, start gluing the flowers, have fun making your design unique and special

Step 5:

Place the headband on the mannequin, (make sure all the time you are designing the crown according to the form of the headband on the mannequin), open the package of wire mesh, carefully bend the wire and make it in a round shape with the size big enough to go all around the head, remember it’s gonna be hold to the sides of the headband. Use floral wire and hot glue to stabilize it

Step 6:

Use the floral wire and the pliers to place random butterflies around the crown, again feel free to use hot glue to stabilize the wire
