Materials Needed:
- Hearty Soft Clay
- Activ-Tools: Clay Tools Set’s knife
- Scissors
- Water Bowl
- Black shank buttons
- Jumbo chenille stem
- Paints
- Paint Brush
Step 1
Body
Roll a long teardrop form out of clay.
Step 2
Legs
Roll 4 short cylinders out of clay.
Attach each cylinder to the body using a small amount of water.
Step 3
Feet
Pinch the ends of each cylinder until they come to a point.
Make two small cuts into each leg using scissors.
Step 4
Tail
Roll a long cylinder out of clay.
Attach the cylinder to the body starting on the top, wrapping it around the rear and underneath the large cone form.
Pinch the cylinder flat.
Step 5
Mouth
Cut a large opening on the head with the knife tool to create the animal’s mouth.
Step 6
Eyes
Insert two buttons into the animal’s head above the mouth.
Step 7
Gills
Cut a piece of chenille into 6 pieces.
Insert 3 of the chenille pieces into one side of the animal’s face and the other 3 into the opposite side.
Step 8
Dry
Allow the clay to dry and become harder.
Step 9
Paint
Paint the sculpture using paints.
